Waterslides are generally considered to be a fun time but an amusement park in Germany is the first to feature a VR waterslide. Located at Galaxy Erding, this new experience is known officially as VRSlide and was developed by Ballast VR. According to Ballast VR, the design of the VR waterslide presented a host of challenges especially regarding the unique speed and way riders move in a slide. To solve this problem, Ballast VR created a new tracking system for the waterslide that precisely monitors a rider and displays the VR content at a variable speed.
The experience showcased on the VR waterslide offers riders the opportunity to be transported across a wide variety of settings, all of which coincide to the movements the rider feels during the slide.
