Multi-Lingual Guide Uniforms

These Volunteer Uniforms Will Be Sported for the 2020 Olympics

In preparation for the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan unveiled a special volunteer uniform to make it easy to identify tourist guides. The outfit designed by Tamaki Fujie consists of a hat, a shirt and a tote bag, which makes it easy to identity these volunteers as roving sources of information.

The volunteer tourist guide team known as 'Omotenashi Tokyo' will sport the bright blue uniforms, making it clear that they are available to assist the public. For starters, the multi-lingual guides will only be on the streets of the city in uniform on Fridays and weekends in designated high-traffic tourist areas.

Since there are hoards of people flocking to Asia for tourism even now, before the Olympics have happened, these uniforms could become a staple for the city during the 2020 Summer games and beyond.
