The Volcom 2013 Campaign evoked nostalgia by bringing back the interesting and eclectic style of the 1990s.
For any of us, myself included, who were born in the 80s, the 90s were our time to begin to express ourselves as individuals. Leaving out the grunge side of the era, Volcom perfectly represented the feelings of the decade. The lookbook showcased multiple looks which featured short overalls, flower on flower patterns, dresses layered on top of shirts and plastic sunglasses. They even had the model wearing a skirt as a tube top.
These looks may seem strange now, but back in the 90s they were all the rage. The Volcom 2013 Campaign was an excellent interpretation of the style of the decade, and they were even able to modernize the looks and successfully bring them into the 2000s.
