For their June 2009 issue, Vogue Nippon introduced readers of the Japanese fashion bible to the stylings of ‘Lady Nature,’ or model Aline Webere adorned in butterflies.
The images are rich in sepia tones, making them look almost western at first glance, a fitting theme with the organic, raw look reminiscent of a landscape at the end of a dry summer—one of the peak times for spotting butterflies.
In some shots she’s featured draped in seashells, while others show Webere dawning feathers around her neck. The fashions are simple, lots of beautiful white cotton, and her lipstick is a pollen-like orange.
