Punk-Inspired Schoolgirl Fashion

Viktor and Rolf Spring 2014 Offers Up Schoolgirl With a Twist

The theme at The Viktor and Rolf Spring 2014 was a combination of a throwback to punk revival mixed with the classic schoolgirl uniform.

The pleat-heavy collection also featured studded collars, structured blazers, low-slung, shapely skirts, and tons of traditional plaid and tweed. The palette stuck to a range of navy, gray, white and black and the models walked the runway with minimal makeup and slicked back hair.

The occasional glimpse of skin, whether it be via a one-shouldered blazer-dress combo, or a sliver of midriff in a low-slung skirt, seemed clandestine in an otherwise very covered-up collection. However, despite the lack of skin-baring, the collection still managed to exude an air of sex appeal with its devil-may-care rock attitude. The overall collection was fitted, sharp and edgy-chic.
