Scenic Mountainside Houses

The Viewfinder House is Oriented Toward a Picturesque Mountain View

Faulkner Architects designed the Viewfinder House to allow the homeowners to see the Sierra Nevada Mountains from every room. The house stands atop a hill in Truckee, opposite the mountains, offering scenic views. To maintain sight range, the Viewfinder House has numerous floor-to-ceiling windows that provide impeccable visibility. For privacy's sake, decorative cedar screens adorn the side of the house facing the road.

Cedar is also used to spruce up other sections of the Viewfinder House. Cedar ceilings and rain screens add rustic character to the home, while granite flooring and modern amenities keep things contemporary. The Viewfinder House includes a swimming pool, a gym, and a media room downstairs. The upstairs houses the kitchen, master bedroom, and guest bedrooms.
