Versatile AI Gardening Robots

Electric Sheep's AI-Powered Garden Bot is Called Verdie

Electric Sheep introduces Verdie, a new autonomous robotic garden helper that leverages photorealistic simulated parks and lawns to navigate obstacles and address challenges encountered in real-world gardening scenarios. Key to Verdie's capabilities is its compatibility with Nvidia's Jetson platforms, which enable the efficient training of AI models on a single desktop GPU. Moving forward, Verdie will inherit the prowess of the ES1 agent, bolstered by reinforcement learning in simulation to master the operation of various power tools, thereby expanding its utility beyond lawn mowing.

"The debut of our Verdie robot is the first AI robot for tasks like trimming and edging in the world of landscaping, and it’s exciting to see our ES1 technology power multiple robots that can work alongside a crew without an engineer on-site setting a specific path for them," said company co-founder and CEO, Nag Murty. "We will be rolling out the Verdie to our customer sites throughout 2024 and continuing to build out this fleet of robots as autonomous agents trained on outdoor services."
