Charlotte Cornaton's 21st Century Homage to Vanitas Painting

Vanitas, a latin word for vanity, is a type of still-life painting that was popular in Europe in the 17th Century.  A vanitas painting contains collections of objects symbolizing death that are meant to remind the viewer of the brevity of life, and how fleeting earthly pleasures are.

Charlotte Cornaton, a ceramic and graphic artist from France, has redefined vanitas painting and updated it for the 21st century. Cornaton's veritas painting is actually an animated video entitled 'Vanitas.'

The Vanitas video has three distinct parts, depicting the vanity of body, knowledge, and morality experienced in life. This is a video that each time you watch it you discover something new.  If you understand French, which I don’t, I imagine listening to the narration would be an added bonus.
