Hozho House is a unique house, created by DesignBuildBLUFF in collaboration with students at the University of Colorado Denver, that is ideal for hosting family gatherings. The single-storey dwelling's name is inspired by the Navajo word for peace and balance.
Constructed for only $25,000, this single-pitched DesignBuildBLUFF creation merges into the landscape thanks to the presence of cedar, while its recycled-aluminum rainscreen is specially designed to layer shadows and offer transparency. This unique house's sheathing wraps around it and folds out from the facade, creating apertures that protect inhabitants from the searing desert sun. The walls and roof of the structure and constructed with high-quality structural insulated panels that exceed the typical standards for insulation.
The doorways are hidden from the outside to provide a private, secluded and comfortable feel. Photo Credits: designboom, designbuildbluff
