Put on by Kelvin Ogholi and Mene B. Orits, UNFIRE is one of this year's Unreasonable Launchpad initiatives. The team uses low-cost poultry feed in order to raise the income of small farmers. The social enterprise also provides jobs to young people who are between the ages of 18 and 35 by allowing them to collect raw material, which they are then paid for. And the distributors tend to be women vendors who get training by places like the Institute of Strategic Management.
In this way, UNFIRE really targets some of the most vulnerable in society -- including farmers who often take on many extra jobs just to make ends meet. But not for long.
