'Whispering Waters' is a new series of underwater photos by Dutch photographer Daniëlle Kwaaitaal. The artist worked with special underwater dresses designed by Mada van Gaans, Kwaaitaal to create these photographs. Runway models and synchronized swimmers were choreographed to express the search for female identity.
The poetic approach expresses the idea that we are more than our exterior selves and that identity is not something that is worn, but something that is borne.
The Groninger Museum will present this new work by the artist Daniëlle Kwaaitaal (Bussum, 1964) in the ‘Green Room’ from March 14 to May 31 2009. Whispering Waters (2009) consists of a series of underwater photographs made by Kwaaitaal in conjunction with fashion designer Mada van Gaans.
