The elongated house structure that borrows motifs from the American shotgun house -- "a type of long and narrow residence," offers two separate homes that are perfect for sizable families. The all-black structure is located in Los Maitenes, Chile. It is constructed by architect Alejandro Soffia and it features a tonal gabled roof, as well as a dark timber exterior.
The intensity and dominance, found in the black color, is a loud juxtaposition to the surrounding natural landscape. However, the choice of symmetry, geometric motifs and monochromatic exterior create a rather modern vibe to Alejandro Soffia's creation.
The two separate homes are unified by the architectural framework through a wooden narrow outdoor deck that "runs along one of the building's long sides."
