Twitter recently announced the Twitter app for Apple TV, which offers an ideal interface for users who love to tweet as they view video content, especially for the purposes of live-tweeting.
As of now, Twitter users are able to connect their mobile Apple device (iPhone or iPad) to their Apple TV and have a live timeline shown on one side of the Apple TV screen. Within this mode, Twitter users also have the chance to share GIFs and images with the same ease that text may be tweeted.
On the release of this new feature, Ryan Troy, Twitter TV’s product manager, explains that: "People love to tweet while watching their favorite TV shows because it allows everyone to experience what’s happening together. This update, combined with Twitter’s daily programming that’s shaped by tweets from the audience, helps enable true interactive TV."
