Tutlub is a Nigeria-specific mobile application that was founded by current CEO Yusuf Hassan. The mobile application was created in order to address the reality of living in Nigeria as a Muslim in an age characterized by widespread xenophobia and a collective misunderstanding regarding the religion of Islam in the physical world and online.
In order to combat this reality, Hassan created Tutlub, a social networking platform that could serve as a safe space for Muslim Nigerians to collect, participate in discussions and build a community around their religion.
Tutlub is a fantastic example of the burgeoning tech scene in Nigeria, while it also demonstrates the potential role of social media in creating safe spaces for marginalized groups online.
