Artefact Designs the Triangle House in London's Epsom

Artefact is a local design studio based in southwest London and it recently created a home extension at the Triangle House. The historic residence was first built in the 50s and the extension is defined by a pale blue and terracotta finish nestled at the back of the home. The inspiration behind the new addition stems from the warmth of the Caribbean paired with bright openings at the facade and a spacious terrace to connect to the garden.

The co-founder of the studio, Daniel Marmot shares the design notion with Dezeen, "[The book] documents a series of vernacular buildings from across the Caribbean, many of which use bold colours in unexpected combinations to elevate everyday materials. These references helped drive the client's ambition for an optimistic colour palette, and their desire for joyful, celebratory interiors rooted in their heritage."
