The newly opened Tom Dixon King's Cross studio is the latest flagship store, showroom and office for the acclaimed British designer. Housed in a former Victoria coal yard, this new facility contributes to the redevelopment of the area around the major transport hub. Dubbed the Coal Office, this 1,625-square-meter complex follows the banks of the Regent's Canal and is located near the Thomas Heatherwick-designed Coal Drops Yard shopping center.
The interior of the Tom Dixon King's Cross studio contains spaces for the brand's staff and gallery, while the store and showroom are located in the railway arches beneath the studio. The space will also include a restaurant and cafe scheduled to open in June of 2018. The goal of the new Tom Dixon King's Cross studio was to "try something new" and form a space that would be a correct mix of professional and retail.
