The Thirsty Bear Lets Customers Help Themselves to Beer

More restaurants are embracing self-service as a way to keep operations efficient, costs low and customers happy, and one establishment that's doing so is The Thirsty Bear. Based in London, this pub provides tablets and self-serve beer a its tables to make dining and drinking convenient, quick and interactive.

The Thirsty Bear pub, which was taken over by The Robot Pub Group last year, uses the Robobar system, a hi-tech, self-service system that involves putting iPads at 15 of the restaurant's tables to let customers order food themselves. Twelve of the iPads are also connected to self-service beer taps, which provide another way for customers to serve themselves. What's more, the tablets also allow patrons to request human service if they need it and change the song that's playing on the jukebox, as well as enables the restaurant to use them as an advertising medium to feature special promotions.
