'Love + Chew,' a female-led plant-based, partnered up with the upcycled food company 'Renewal Mill' to launch 'The Protein Cookie.' This is a peanut butter-filled cookie baked out of upcycled oat milk flour from Renewal Mill. According to Renewal Mill, the company upcycles its oat milk by recovering the leftover pulp from plant-based milk productions and uses these oats for other products, such as The Protein Cookie. This results in healthy, natural food products that would have previously ended up in a waste bin. However, this does not mean the ingredients were unfit for consumption, as they are perfectly safe and healthy.
The Protein Cookie features real peanut butter, chickpea flour, oat milk flour, and almond flour. This results in a better-for-you cookie packed with healthy proteins, fibers, and oats. The CEO of Love + Chew, Lauren Chew, stated: "The result is a tasty, high-protein cookie where you don't have to compromise," when speaking about the partnership between the two food manufacturers.
