Collecting hundreds of the most famous photographs taken on that historic day, The Photographers' Stories is perhaps the most appropriate iTunes download you can make this week.
The iPad application is based around the concept of a recent article published by American Photo, wherein journalists were asked to recount their experiences on September 11th. Shocking stills are combined with the profiles and depositions of photographers, culminating in a moving collage of emotions. The Photographers' Stories has four chapters, each covering the different stages of the attack, which are complemented by seven galleries that display the unique perspective of journalists on the ground.
The volumes of anger, pathos and grief that were caused by the events of 9/11 can't be captured as succinctly as in a photograph and this iPhone app has the best of the lot.
