Seth McFarlane to Head the Flinstones Reboot on Fox

Family Guy frontman Seth McFarlane has finalized a deal to reboot the classic animated series The Flinstones. The Flinstones reboot has been approved by Warner Bros., the owners of The Flinstones and all other Hana-Barbera cartoons.

The Flinstones reboot will be headed by McFarlane. who plans on releasing both a new television show and feature film. The new Flinstones will air on Fox, something that makes me a little wary as I liked my Flinstones wholesome and accessible to all ages. Still, McFarlane has stated that rebooting the show is a life-long dream of his, so I trust that he will stay as close to his source material as possible.

I grew up watching The Flinstones so I am definitely excited to see where this goes. No air-date has yet been set, but keep your eyes peeled for promos, press releases and any other sort of juicy tidbits because the project is bound to get underway soon.
