In the picture you can see the fastest diesel superboat in production today. It is the prototype XSR48 from XSMG Marine.
The XSR48 has a Kevlar/carbon-fibre monocoque hull and twin diesel Isotta Fraschini engines . This prototype can reach speeds over 100 mph, and considering that it is a diesel boat, it is a very high speed.
The XSR48 will be taken to Monaco this month to be shown to potential customers and clients. There will be produced only 100 units of this chromed superboat, so I am sure there will be a fierce competition among a group of rich potential buyers in order to get one of the 100 exclusive powerboats that will be produced by XSMG Marine.
This 48 foot boat is going to be tested in order to break a series of world record attempts this years. This will be the best promotion possible in order to make this powerboat a record holder worth its high price (is is expected to sell above 1.6 million dollars each unit).
If some of the readers of this post knows some of the owners in the coming year, please email me because I would be more than happy to take a ride in this beautiful and fast superboat.
If you follow the source link below, you will see a video of this nice powerboat.
