Modern Marie Antoinette Photoshoots

'The Emodied Thought' AnOther Magazine Editorial is Historic

'The Emobided Thought' photoshoot for the UK-based AnOther Magazine publication does an excellent job of conjuring up the prototypical images of Marie Antoinette. The Queen of France is now well-known for her trailblazing sense of style that was largely influenced by modest Victorian motifs.

This AnOther Magazine editorial was orchestrated by photographer Ben Toms. With the help of stylist Robbie Spencer, the duo created a modern take on the historic look. Although Antoinette's manner of dress was rather demure, Spencer and Toms have concentrated upon the same use of ruffles, bustiers and haute headpieces, only with a series of sensual undertones. See-through skirts and excessively high heels made this readily apparent, along with cut-out dresses and translucent chiffon skirts.
