The Cicada Symphony Orkinstra by Orkin Samples Sounds from Insects

For the first time since 1803, two cicada broods will be emerging from beneath the ground and their recognizable sounds have been turned into the focal point of The Cicada Symphony Orkinstra by Orkin. This original, seven-act symphony from Emmy Award-nominated composer Bryan Rheude takes inspiration from the insects and samples their sounds too.

A live performance of The Cicada Symphony Orkinstra is taking place in Springfield, Illinois with a 10-piece orchestra and tickets to the unusual music event were snapped up quickly. Fortunately for those who weren't able to secure a ticket to this once-in-a-lifetime concert, there will be a 45-minute livestream of the concert shared on Orkin's TikTok account, and the full-length album will drop later on Spotify.
