The Bread Maker is a UK-based social enterprise that not only sells an assortment of bakery goods and catering services, but also employs people with learning disabilities.
The Bread Maker, located in Aberdeen, also offers wholesale goods and celebration cakes, and their programs include volunteering and apprenticeship opportunities.
"The bread maker’s social aim is to provide a range of meaningful employment, training, educational opportunities and social activities to adults with learning disabilities with a purpose of integration into the community," the website explains.
Currently the Bread Maker employs 20 adults in the bakery and coffee shop, as well as provides them with ongoing educational opportunities and encourages them to get involved in social activities within the community.
