Tideway sees the potential for London's sewage system to be transformed in just a year, and it is sharing its vision with a subterranean garden installation called Loo Gardens. As it stands, the Thames Tideway Tunnel will be activated for testing next summer and it's set to be completed by 2025, supporting a more sustainable sewage system and a healthier waterway.
Loo Gardens is set up 50 meters underground, within the Tideway Thames Tunnel, and it was made with repurposed waste that was cleared from the Thames. Complete with hand-painted flowers, the installation serves as a representation of how ecosystems above and below ground will thrive as a result of London's new super sewer.
