Designer Lu Yicong developed a tea-inspired aromatherapy device which mirrors the concepts behind traditional Chinese tea drinking.
Traditionally, in Chinese tea drinking, the lid lays tilted, providing a gap so that the aroma can escape, exciting sense other than just taste. Inspired by this idea, Yicong's diffuser mirrors the ancient process, through a re-imagined modern, minimalist device.
The user can place essential oils inside and activate the device by pressing the top, which subsequently tilts the top section, letting aroma escape, mimicking the tea-drinking process. The aroma dispersion promotes emotional well-being, clarity, and mindfulness.
Tea-inspired aromatherapy is inclusive of aspects of mindfulness that benefit all senses, allowing users to discover other facets that aid in emotional therapy.
