A group of researchers from the National University of Singapore have successfully developed a platform that is able to digitally send the look and taste of lemonade across the Internet.
This system works by first recording the color and pH level of a real lemonade beverage. From there, this data is sent to a digital tumbler filled with water, which uses lights and electrodes to mimic the level of sourness and acidity in the beverage that was first measured.
The group that developed this innovative way to send drinks online was inspired by the idea that "People are always posting pictures of drinks on social media—what if you could upload the taste as well?" In the future, the scientists may even work towards incorporating other drinks and potentially scents as well.
