Kroger is releasing in-store targeted audio ads, through a partnership with Vibenomics. The partnership will take effect on July 20th and it will be operated by the Kroger data analytic division, 84.51°. The in-store audio ads will be played on private audio networks and will be used at over 2,300 different Kroger locations.
Kroger does not have the capability to customize ads for each individual, and instead audio ads will be altered based on local events, like the weather.
In-store targeted audio ads have the ability to drive sales, as the content can encourage customers who are already in the store to buy products they may not have otherwise purchased.
Before the year 2021 Vibenomics believes its technology will be integrated into 8,000 retail locations.
