Swedish brand DUG recently launched a new plant-based milk made from potatoes. The new beverage boasts a white and creamy texture with a mild taste and is available in three flavors -- DUG Original, DUG Barista, and DUG Unsweetened.
The DUG potato milk is a "super-sustainable" milk alternative since potatoes don't require many resources to grow compared to other plant-based milk ingredients like almonds, soybeans, or oats. Compared to traditional cow milk potato-based milk reduces the climate impact by about %75. In addition, potatoes require 56 times less water than almonds, helping conserve water and prevent shortages and droughts. Lastly, growing potatoes is actually twice as efficient as growing oats in terms of land use, making the milk alternative a sustainable milk alternative.
