The Suunto Traverse is a high-tech outdoor watch that is designed for novice or casual outdoor enthusiasts to gain more confidence to push their boundaries.
Suunto's previous offerings such as its Ambit3 were designed for people who spend days and weeks at a time in the outdoors, hiking peaks and shuffling across dangerous ridges. But the Traverse is targeted towards the more casual hiker and occasional micro-adventurist. It does this by getting rid of needless features and focusing on the fundamentals, such as GPS navigation, route planning and metric tracking.
"With the Suunto Traverse, we want to help outdoor enthusiasts gain the confidence to explore. We have focused a lot on the ease of use with the Traverse," says Suunto outdoor business line manager Petteri Hernelahti. "With the emergence of a new generation of active outdoor men and women, there has been a shift to more accessible adventures that focus on enjoyment and new experiences.
