LAYER designs sustainable felt furniture for KFI Studios. The collection, which is called 'Vale,' effortlessly combines minimalist aesthetic appeal with eco-friendly materials and manufacturing practices. LAYER founder Benjamin Hubert has described this capsule, which includes a chair, high and low stools, and an armchair, as "a study in restraint."
The seating collection is manufactured using recycled PET plastic bottles that LAYER pressed into a PET felt shell. This approach results in the reduction of the amount of manufactured plastic in circulation and aligns with the principles of sustainability. Additionally, the felt is attached to the steel frames of the seats with simple bolts, allowing for easy disassembly and eventual recycling. There are six color options of the furniture silhouettes for consumers to choose from.
LAYER's sustainable felt furniture collection presents a commendable effort to promote environmental responsibility in the industry.
