Apocalypse-Averting Abodes

The Survival Condo is an Underground Safe House for the Super Rich

If you have a few million dollars stashed away for a rainy day, such as the end of the world perhaps, a Survival Condo is a piece of real estate worth investing in.

Luxurious, self-sustainable condos are being constructed in an old missile silo beneath the Kansas prairie for anyone who wants to be safe when doomsday comes.

Created by a Denver-based designer named Larry Hall, each unit is 174" long and encased in nine-feet-thick concrete walls. The living spaces range from $1.5 Million to $2 Million US, and feature windows that display projections of the outdoors and various plant life to mimic their above-ground counterparts.

It is also the only condominium community capable of surviving a direct nuclear attack. Whether it's the Mayan doomsday prediction, a zombie apocalypse or a robot takeover that destroys the planet, anyone with enough cash (and just the right amount of paranoia) would live on -- at least for a bit.
