Adrià Escolano and David Steegmann Build a Stylish Storage Spaces

In the contemporary context, stylish storage spaces are very important. For one, today's consumer is increasingly aesthetically driven. Secondly, given dense urban environments, living spaces are getting smaller and smaller.

Architects Adrià Escolano and David Steegmann had the opportunity to overhaul two El Guateque apartments from the 1950s. The project divided the three-story building into two separate homes. As a result, space became limited and the two architects had to focus on creating enough open space within the apartments. They did so by ensuring the dwelling had an abundance of discreet and stylish storage spaces. This is realized through MDF panels "with jagged edges that differ on each floor," making not only for a functional feature but also an attention-captivating one.
