Michigan product design student Veronika Scott is trying to help those who need it most. The coats she constructed can be used as an insulated sleeping bag and also as a jacket. Using materials such as Tyvec, wool and other synthetics, the outwear object is self heated and waterproof providing the protection those who live on the streets need to survive.
We all know how harsh the winter can be in the Northern United States and Canada. Facing temperatures on average of -10°C, it makes people want to never leave their houses. However in the city of Detroit, Michigan, there is an average of 18,000 homeless individuals who have to suffer and endure the cold day and night with little shelter. Veronika Scott's versatile jacket helps those individuals keep warm in the coldest conditions.
