Thicket-Mimicking Pavillions

The 'Thicket Pavilion Study 2.0' is a Semi-Clear Steel Rod Structure

Architect Barkow Leibinger designed this unique structure titled 'Thicket Pavilion Study 2.0.' The pavilion was constructed to create a semi-secluded room. The walls of the pavilion are made of steel rods that are designed to mimic thickets. The entire structure is surrounded with these rods, which provides only a partial view to the interior.

For those inside the pavilion, the main goal is to create the feeling of being isolated. The space was erected to provide an interesting public meeting space to blur the lines between reality and imagination.

The Thicket Pavilion Study 2.0 is a stand-alone platform that can be placed in any space from offices to parks. Barkow Leibinger himself says the "pavilion acts as a stage, a refuge, and a visually stimulating phenomenon."
