In a way, the Stasis Lamp could be described as relatively minimal in design; however, there is a whimsicality to its composition that brings smile to your face in the way that simple interior fixtures rarely do. What we have here is a single lampshade that's been assembled as a stack of progressively smaller domes made from semi-spherical pieces of metal.
Studio BAAG piled sets of four bowls, one on top of the other, to produce the quirky light fixture. These have been precariously angled such that they almost appear to be sliding off of the dome below. The asymmetry of the finished product lighthearted and visually intriguing.
To finish the Stasis Lamps, the designers applied rubberized paint in either grey or a muted pastel green. These shades allow them to blend in with all sorts of interiors, subtly introducing a dose of delight.
