In an effort to make voting more accessible to its many employees across the United States, Starbucks announced that it would be partnering with Lyft to provide its workers with one-way rides so that they can cast their ballot or volunteer as a poll worker.
Starbucks US employees can use to ride to either get directly to the polls, a nearby post office, ballot box, or another ballot drop off location. They can access the free ride, which covers up to $75, until November 3rd, 2020. The aim of the partnership is to increase voter turnout by decreasing the barriers people may face in getting out to exercise their democratic rights.
Starbucks has also included a number of links on its website that help both consumers and employees register to vote, plan when and where to do so, and volunteer at their local election office.
