The five-year ANA Star Wars project has officially begun with the launch of the R2-D2-themed 787 Dreamliner.
In partnership with the cult film franchise, Japan's All Nippon Airways has painted one of its planes to resemble the iconic R2-D2 robot. The nose of the plane exhibits the character's iconic blue and white stripes while the body portrays other graphics of the legendary robot.
Towards the rear of the plane is a colossal Star Wars logo is seen in its traditional black palette and font. While the exterior of this aircraft portrays exquisite design, the interior remains the same as all other 787 Dreamliner planes. This sci-fi aircraft is only the first innovation out of the ANA Star Wars Project that will later include various cutting-edge initiatives.
Meanwhile, the R2-D2 Dreamliner will start its international route this coming fall.
