Minimalist Stand-Up Cafes

Pauline's Boasts a Warm Interior Which is Arranged by Master Studio

This stand-up cafe in Cape Town's Sea Point neighborhood takes full advantage of its "awkwardly narrow floor plan." The pared-back interior has been arranged by Master Studio.

The establishment is truly revolutionizing the coffee industry. The dominant contemporary presence of cafes is rooted in productivity as freelancers move in to do their work in homey, design-driven and caffeine-offering businesses. However, the stand-up cafe is a concept that completely counters this notion and maybe for the better as it promotes a mindful moment, general connectivity and community-building.

Master Studio outfitted the Cape Town-based Pauline's with two to three materials. A strong point in the aesthetic of the stand-up cafe is the textured walls which are covered in Sisal -- "a natural fiber made from the Mexican plant, Agave Sisalana."
