Music streaming giant Spotify has officially launched a new website called 'Spotify Tickets' that enables artists to sell concert tickets directly to fans. Accordingly, the slogan for the new site reads: "Your destination for live events by creators you love, ticketed by Spotify."
Currently, the events are being promoted through the site by artists, including TOKiMONSTA. Although the new site has been launched, it hasn't been officially announced by Spotify. In addition, Spotify will continue its partnership with Ticketmaster and Song Kick, both of which see the app redirecting users to these ticket purchasing platforms. Nonetheless, Pitchfork shared a statement from Spotify revealing the motivation behind launching the new site:
"At Spotify, we routinely test new products and ideas to improve our user experience. Some of those end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as important learnings. Tickets.spotify.com is our latest test. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time."
