Thanks to a group of students at Carnegie Mellon's Integrated Innovation Institute, the homeless will now be able to afford this innovative invention known as the 'Satellite Shelter.' The design was an outcome of a contest with the participating teams coming up with solutions to help the less fortunate who are living on the street.
Satellite Shelter uses outer space technology to transform the sleeping bag into a tent. Accompanied with a belt and wheels, the innovation is mobile and can be wheeled around like a trolley.
A member of the team behind the Satellite Shelter, "We wanted to make sure it was super portable and durable, so that it’s easy to carry."
Large scale development of this invention could solve the problem of inaccessibility or unavailability of homeless shelters in the long run, if marketed with care.
