Motorists passing by an outdoor advertisement for emergency preparedness in the Sioux Falls area were concerned about seeing the Avera Health sponsored smoking billboard billowing actual smoke: They called the fire department.
The smoking billboard depicted a woman seated on a gurney in front of an auto accident. A hidden smoke machine made the cars in in the accident appear to be sending smoke from the pictured crash into the sky. The concerned fire department was OK with the ad, but required the advertisers to quit the smoking.
