Smog-Sucking Vacuum Towers

This Chinese Tower Was Designed As Part of the 'Smog Free Project'

This air pollution-targeting structure was designed as part of the 'Smog Free Project.'

With thriving industries that have few environmental regulations placed upon them, cities around the world are producing high amounts of pollution and one of the consequences of that fact is the increased production of smog. This is particularly a problem in China and the issue is being targeted here with a vacuum tower. The tower was placed in Beijing square and was designed by 'Studio Roosegaarde.' After 40 days of it sucking up the smog in the air around it, China's Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that the air around the tower is 55 percent cleaner than it was before.

The effectiveness of this smog-vacuuming structure could result in its design being replicated and placed in various locations in any city or town that is affected by excessive pollution and smog.
