Rezzi's SmartCan helps to automate one of the most dreaded household tasks for many—taking out the trash. The garbage can boasts a motorized attachment that works with a mobile app, so that arrangements can be made for the trash can to make its way to the curb by itself. After sitting outside for pickup on garbage day, SmartCan is capable of returning to its base, as it senses vertical movement.
From window-washing robots to self-emptying robotic vacuums, technology is getting closer and closer to fully automating household cleaning tasks. According to Rezzi CEO and SmartCan creator Andrew Murray, "We want to help people eliminate unnecessary chores from their daily lives. We see an opportunity to take IoT beyond just turning off lights or turning on music, and really help alleviate the burden of the mundane physical tasks that everyone faces."
Rezzi was recently chosen as the Cool Idea Award winner for innovation in automated consumer electronics technology by Protolabs.
