Balanced Activity Toys

Samsung's Smart Toys Balance Technology with Physical Activities

Kids don't want to miss out on all the fun phone and tablet games out there, but parents don't want them to miss out on physical activity either—in response to this issue, Samsung created Smart Toys to help balance both kinds of play.

The Cheil agency in Spain developed a line of toys like jump ropes and rackets that were equipped with motion sensors. These Smart Toys were given away for free with the purchase of TabKids devices and together, kids are required to log a certain amount of time doing some physical activities with the Smart Toys before they can get involved with digital activities on the TabKids. This way, the toys encourage kids to get active in a healthy way that balances out different kinds of play.
