At Lenovo’s Tech World 2016 in Silicon Valley, the company announced a pair of 3D-printed smart sneakers that feature built-in LED lights, sensors and even controls that can be used for mobile gaming.
The Smart Shoes are powered by electronic systems from Intel that permit health monitoring and data tracking for steps taken and the gamification of fitness challenges. The built-in lights that illuminate the base of the smart sneakers are designed to flash in tune with the wearer's movements and music. For ultimate comfort and customization, the insoles of the sneakers are 3D printed.
Last year, Lenovo also unveiled a similar pair of sneakers with built-in sensors to read and display the mood of the wearer.
