These realistic small drawings are created with little more than pencil and paper.
In a series of circular pencil drawings, Mateo Pizarro recreates the subject of light in many different ways. The small drawings depict a variety of scenes including a crowded bonfire, a brightly lit barn, the flame of a candle, a chandelier and a galaxy. In order to reveal the true miniature size of these works of art, the artist places items such as matches and lighters next to them so that the viewer can compare the two. The artist uses pencil to fill in the background in order for the white of the paper to stand out and depict light in a way that forms an image.
The amount of detail the artist manages to capture in this art is an excellent feat, since he used a difficult drawing technique on a very small canvas in order to create the drawings.
