Samsung has announced the new sleep apnea detection feature that's headed to its wearables in Korea next year as a way to help consumers detect for the breathing disorder in the night.
The health feature will be launched onto the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Watch6, and has received approval from the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The feature will work diligently to keep an eye out for obstructive sleep apnea symptoms to help users pinpoint when they might be in the early stages. This information will then be related to the user to encourage them to seek medical attention.
The Samsung sleep apnea detection feature will work after performing two sleep tracking sessions that each provide more than four-hours of data.
