Based in Copenhagen and Stockholm, Skandinavisk is a line of design and quality-focused candles inspired by the Nordic concept of "hygge." Without an English equivalent, "hygge" can only be described as the feeling of cozy, intimate gatherings and warm day-to-day moments that nourish the soul.
Tasked with creating a range of formulas that enrich the homes of customers while communicating what makes Nordic culture special, Skandinavisk sought to create items that reflected certain specific aspects of Scandinavian life.
Launched in 2013, the inaugural Skandinavisk line featured a series of blue and white candles. The scents contained in each Skandinavisk formula are created with the help of a leading European perfume designer, produced in Grasse, France and aim to capture the five unique Nordic regions.
