'Sense Familiar' is a magazine created stylist Isabel Bonner in collaboration with a photographer, a designer, as well as a florist and candlemaker. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the magazine was also designed to activate one's sense of smell with scratch-and-sniff stickers.
While scratch-and-sniff stickers and perfumed samples are often included in the pages of magazines, this one sets itself apart by allowing people to smell the unique scents of the six people featured in the issue. Since the sense of smell is deeply linked to both emotions and memory, the experience offers a unique way to connect with the people on each page.
Although developing the unique scents for each featured individual was no easy feat, the release of Sense Familiar has since created a demand for the fragrances themselves.
